My editorial philosophy stems from my teaching philosophy, which is that a writer should know exactly what to do moving forward with the feedback received and feel confident in their abilities to do it. Line Editing
Sentence-level clarity, voice, and flow. I help you refine your prose to ensure every word serves your story and is grammatically sound. This is ideal for manuscripts that have already undergone big-picture revisions through workshops or other feedback.
Tier 2
Manuscript Evaluation
A detailed editorial letter assessing strengths, ideas for revision, and clear next steps for how to go about those revisions. You will have notes throughout the manuscript, along with with explanations of those notes. This is ideal for authors who seeking feedback on plot, characterization, pacing, and other storytelling elements.
Each tier will look slightly different based on the manuscript's genre and your specific goals for the editorial process. As much as I am able, I will cater to your needs as a writer.
